My daughter has been on it for 2 1/2 years now. She hasn’t had any episodes since taking it. She had one minor aura last summer but fine since.

I have taken it for about year and a half, and along with Lamotrigine and Cannabinoids, I am starting to turn the corner and feel alot better. The confounding factors are that the XCopri is up to 350mg, Lamotrigine has been raised by 50mg, once or maybe twice, this year and I tried to stop taking the Cannabinoids, too. I am back to the original dose of Cannabinoids, now. So many of my auras have disappeared, thank God, and I have not had any altered awareness, this year. Honestly, the three meds are equally important. I have focal seizures and a family history of SUDS and SUDEP. Hope that helps. Oh, the constipation is wicked. I use Miralax and Magnesium, liberally.

Yes, some members on MyEpilepsyTeam are taking Xcopri (cenobamate). It was approved by the FDA in 2020 as an add-on treatment for adults with partial-onset seizures. As with any medication, people respond differently - some members have found it works well to reduce seizures while others experienced side effects like dizziness, fatigue, or nausea. It's important to closely monitor how Xcopri is working for you and to report any concerning side effects to your doctor right away. Checking in with other members taking the same medication can also help provide additional perspectives on what to expect.
