Having Epilepsy, Would You Find Therapy Greater By Doing Art, Writing Etc. Or A Psycologist/counselor
If you were to express your thoughts, pain, fears, anxiety, experiences with seizures, would you find it more useful and therapy to release stress from doing painting, art, music, writing/poetry, activity, or seeing a counselor/psychologist?
it is for just relaxing and not seizrue activity? I have with me all the time Ativan that I only use when I feel anxiety and fear of an on coming seizure of couldnt sleep. Not daily but when I feel that need for relaxing. I use Ambian to help me sleep at night, both are decriptions from the neurologist. Let me know if this helps
I find that taking care of cats relives alot of stress for me. I talk to them feed them and I feel like they are there for me. I know it may sound weird but they relax me and any other time i like to use mild meditation to help relax my nerves.
I think that everyone has their own form of coping and release...just a matter of finding what works best for you. Anything you can find to help you unwind is fantastic.
I write poetry and it helps my feelings flow
When I was younger, I started going to the Epilepsy Foundation for a support group. At that time I realized , that I wasn't the only one who had this disorder. Learnt that there are different types of epilepsy. There would be 1 or 2 speaker on different subjects about epilepsy . So not only did we learn from each other but we also learnt from the subjects we talked about.
