I have temporal lobe epilepsy and alot of the time I wake up with what I can describe as a hangover even though I haven't touched alcohol my head feels fuzzy and I just don't feel with it. Any ideas what it is?

After I have an episode when I do come to, I do have nausea and my head feeling dizzy. I was once told that, those feelings comes from the seizures being so strong that while my body is convulsing, so was my brain. The neurologist said the stronger the seizures, the weaker your body and brain will be. Her advice for me was to get bed rest for a day or two, eat light and stay hydrated. Knowing that I couldn't miss any more days off work, I asked her why did I have to stay in bed for a day or two, and what if I couldn't? She said to try because I will still be off balance and my body have to get back to its self. I didn't want to listen and one day I had a seizure on a Sunday and I had to be at work 7a.m. Monday. Well once I did get released Sunday around10p.m. that night. I threw a load of laundry in and started to my lunch for the next day. I feel a little sluggish Monday morning but I still went to work and I just wasn't feeling right I was a little slow getting my work done because I worked in quality control and testing bolts and nuts, I was slower doing my work than normal. Around 11 o'clock I remember sitting at my desk and typing results into the system and when I woke up I open my eyes thinking that I probably had laid my head down on my desk I was actually in the ER. While I'm there upset and very emotional I thought about what the neurologist said my body still wasn't back to its normal state and I didn't listen. So the moral of my story is for you to know yourself and go with your gut instinct. I wish you all the best

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I have been experiencing the same thing! I cant fall asleep for the life of me, I see dark shapes and sometimes flashing lights..... Not really sure what things I'm supposed to tell my Dr, I feel like she could care less when I talk.

You are very correct that's why I listen even when I don't want to.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member that should be a lesson to us all to listen to our body and take advice from others as you well know if you had of listened that day to your Dr you may of not ended up at the er.

My grandson has frontal lobe epilepsy and when he's coming out of them he tells me that he has a headache and his head is fuzzy. I have told his consultant but waiting for an answer.
