Gluten Free
Has anyone here done a Gluten free diet to see if that helps with the seizures? My sister is a Med student and is studying the brain right now and has read that diet has everything to do with how your brain functions. She suggested I try going Gluten free...I'm thinking about it. (It's a big commitment)
Did I say cure? I meant help. It says it can help.(: but idk if I would completely cut out ALL gluten maybe cut down. I'm going to casually ask my neurologist see what his opinion is (: & stress is a big trigger for me which is horrible because I've always been a worrier :/ ppl somehow tell me not to stress not to get angry or upset. They forget I'm a human and I have feelings and it's not my fault my brain can't handle too much stress hormones :/
i would give it a go i would try anything to help control my seizures!
It's not necessarily specific types of foods that can cause seizures @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. Doctors have tried patients on different diets to see if they can help some people that have epilepsy. An example is when I was told to reduce my caffeine and that has not decreased my seizures. I believe this type of question should be discussed with a neurologist. What I have stated on here is speaking from my experiences.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I eat meats, fruits, vegetables, and drink plenty of water. No dairy, soy, onions, fries, wheat, and gluten products. I get gluten free products such as oatmeal, granola bars, popcorn, nuts, etc...
I'm on a gluten free diet. It has helped with reducing my seizures.
