First the RNS is placed under the the scalp and thin wires with electrodes that are placed in the area of your brain where your seizures start. RNS delivers pulses to disrupt the abnormal activity and reduce Seizure frequency. You can transfer data to Your Neurologist from Your home to His/Her office through computer using remote monitor.
I hope this helped Everybody!

Yep, I knew that already. They said they'll also give me a card for when I have to go through airport screenings so that the security will be aware of it too

I just had an inpatient video-monitored EEG, MRI, and PET scan done in March. When we met with a neurosurgeon to discuss the results, he said my intractable epilepsy was caused by scarring that he saw on both my right and left temporal lobes, so there was no doubt that I have epilepsy. In the past there would be nothing they could do, but he said he does recommend me going in for this RNS surgery and feels like I would be a really good candidate for it. I'm researching everything I can about it. From what I've seen so far and what my neurosurgeon said, it seems to be pretty successful. It's a new treatment, but at least it's been around long enough now that they're starting to get some solid data and patient reports on it that have shown it to be effective in reducing the number of seizures and the severity of them. I'm just praying that I'll start having a better quality of life for myself and my family if I move forward with it. Best of luck to you all! I'm still scared about it, but for the first time in a while, I feel like I have more hope now.

It can stop seizures and there is a monitor that sends the information to Your Doctor in their office from Your home.

I had the RNS implant surgery November 28, 2016. My neurologist has not gathered enough information to turn on the device yet. As soon as the device is on I will post to update how it is working out! I already had the VNS implanted in 2011 and it has helped to make my seizures less severe if I use my magnet in time.
