Hydration And Seizures

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I somehow cam across a few websites where people on lamictal have suggested that being dehydrated has had a negative impact on seizures (i.e increase seizures whilst dehydrated and less seizures while fully hydrated) has anyone heard of this link betwen the 2? And if so any feedback linking the 2 together?

It makes since that dehydration could contribute to your seizure control, however potassium levels get depleted during a seizure so if you're not eating enough potassium richfoods takeadaily

I take lamictal and I drink an average amount each day but I do have 2-3 seizures a week so perhaps I'll start drinking more and see if it makes a difference.

While It Is True You Have To Be Careful To Stay Hydrated, It Is Also Important Not To Drink Too Much. I've Done This. Washed Too Much
