I was told to consult my doctor if I wanted children as the medication could harm the baby.

See this is where I look to the far distant future I've asked one doctor the same thing when I got prescribed Keppra and she said the same thing and I was put on folic acid due to brain damage. P.S. I'm not even sexually active I just like to plan my future way in advance so I make myself look like a crazy lady when I ask questions so I know what to do when that day comes.

This has been a complicated issue for me. I have talked to two different neurologists about it. I'm on Keppra and Lamictal. They feel confident that I would be able to have children without a problem. I'm not so confident. I'm on a high dose of folic acid "just in case". One neurologist wanted me to increase the folic acid even higher. They both agreed a pregnancy needs to be planned and closely monitored, but feel that it would be safe and the baby would be fine.

I was asked "if I wanted children?" before they put me on my meds I was undecided, and the stuff they were going to put me on was not good for a female who might decided to have kids some day. Which was why they gave me Keppra that I take two times a day everyday. I don't know having kid part, but I hope that if and when I try to someday have kids Keppra won't hurt it.
