No matter how epilepsy makes me feel and the ignorance of people 😏 I will always bounce back stronger then ever before. πŸ’ͺ βœŒπŸ‘Œ I had ignorance my whole life due to this unfortunate condition πŸ™ˆπŸ˜’

The question I always ask myself is how I'm I any different to a cancer suffer?! They both the same, they both invisible and heartbrokening illnesses & they both very deadly.😬

The ONLY difference is that epilepsy is NOT as recognized as much as cancer!!! There are 40 different types of seizures not all… read more

Lately I've actually seen commercials on TV about epilepsy awareness!!! One of them was Rick Harrison, the guy from Pawn Stars. He's lived with epilepsy and now he has his own. Cable TV show.
I also saw another commercial but don't know the actors name, I think he's from NCIS. Really is awesome to seeπŸ˜‚

epilepsy can be controled with the right meds, and caner you have to quit your job,and hope for the best. cancer runs in both side,s of my family.they are both bad but cancer is worse because it can make you sick more than epilepsy.

I went through Cancer at 24 Yrs old. 3 years in the hospital and surgically removed Lymphatic system and testicle. I personally kept most of it to myself. BUT - with the seizures i am sure to keep people who spend a lot of time near know. No other reason than to avoid someone panicking if i do have a bad one.

I have a friend who has more or less the same as you stefanie, every so often he breaks down needing to let all the stress out then he can pick himself up and carry on.
I found a good way to help people be more aware and understand epilepsy was by going to schools and talking about epilepsy in general and symptoms to be aware of explaining epilepsy isn't just someone having a seizure,

It cannot be controlled in all cases...People with epilepsy can lose days after seizures, injure, be excluded, unsupported this does more damage than the Epilepsy it self at least with cancer it is spoken about, people talk more and do not look down upon the cancer sufferer and their carers with huge pity etc. I could go on and on in terms of advertisement, media attention, inclusivity, the words and money given to Cancer support, research. education, treatment compared to Epilepsy but the ex Nursing student, personal care attendant and current Disability and Educational Support Worker, Epilepsy advocate in me says to save my breath!!!!
