Postictal States
I have grand mal and myoclonic seizures, has anyone ever lost their ability to speak after a seizure? In my postictal state I could understand what people were saying and was only a little foggy, but if I tried to speak nothing would come out. I could communicate by writing, it was messy but I could still write.
You seizures must be going through your Speech ,Language and Memory Center. When it hits that area of your brain , it creates like a Short Circuit. So you may know what you want to say , but because your seizure struck that part of your brain your not able to vocalize.
Yep yep
I can't move, speak or respond and I just stare ,my mom says I'm not there when it happens ,but I can hear what people are saying.
so with that being said can it be fixed or is that one other thing I have to live with
I sound like I am drunk my speech has not been the same since last year as my words get muddled up i am forgetting things i hate it I had part of my right side temporal lobe out but now they think that it's coming from the frontal lobe I am sick of the headaches my epilepsy is complex as it is effecting my left side I have complex partial seizures as well as generalised tonic clonic
