Keppra Withdrawal

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter is 11 years old. She was on Keppra 1000mg twice a day. Her neurologist decided to stop the Keppra cold turkey, because Keppra rage presented itself after Trileptal was introduced. We stopped the Keppra on 11 May 2017. Has anyone experienced withdrawal symptoms after stopping Keppra? What were the withdrawal symptoms that you experienced?

Whenever they have taken me off any med, they slowly wean me off. Even when I have had to start new meds they slowly up the dose to avoid the side effects being to bad. Being taken off somethin that quickly at once isn't good. Seems almost dangerous cold turkey

I'm on Keppra 1500mg twice a day but cold turkey is wrong she will get a lot of the side effects that comes with Keppra do your research (if you haven't already) some of the bad side effects are seizures again, and what I've had burning my skin off, my GP didn't know what it was and she knows my neurologist.

Anyone Here Take Keppra? If So Do You Experience Serious Mood Swings, Irritation, Agitation? Or As Some Call It “Keppra Rage”.
