Parents are suppose to understand. My mom is my biggest supporter. She was the one who fought and never gave up to get me social security. She also found me all my doctor's who are part of my care team. Without my parents I wouldn't be where I am today.

Family members do not understand epilepsy unless they are a Neurologist-they will never understand what it is like to live with epilepsy because they do not have to face all the difficulties that come with having the problem.

They don't. It doesn't mean that they don't Love you etc.

But logically, they don't and cannot fully understand what YOU / WE feel,
Because they cannot. They don't have the epilepsy with them all 24 hours per day.
The epilepsy has not changed them as it has us; The way we think, the way we feel, the way we understand things and view things.

It would be great if other people took the time to learn more. Understanding more about epilepsy would be a benefit for everybody This is something other people can do only if they are wiling to, but people are afraid of things they do not understand, especially medical problems. If somebody is afraid of something they are not likely to pursue that.

Trust me. I know what that is like. My girlfriend died of cancer months back. She suffered real bad. While most of their family was partying etc.. There was only 2 people that took care of her around the clock. We NEVER gave up hope. By the time they found out it was cancer, it was too late!!! I've never been through that before!!!! Real tough seeing her healthy, and slowly deteriorate over a year!!!!
