I have bipolar type 1, i developed seizures after a head injury. The epilepsy aggravated my anxiety and depression.

I’ve been told that I may have bipolar type one but meds can cause mood swings too so idk. But I do have anxiety and panic attacks for sure- I guess it makes sense- bipolar and anxiety go hand in hand

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member: Bipolar is a form of mental illness and it is chronic. It's like epilepsy and doesn't go away. The meds can bring on similar symptoms, and many of them do. But, once the meds are changed, the side effects will change too.

I have epilepsy, I've also been diagnosed Bipolar.
I agree with what other people have said, some meds can cause mood swings that can make a person look and feel like their bipolar. Before my epilepsy diagnosis I took myself off my bipolar meds, and when my neuro tried me on Topamax it made my bipolar symptoms much worse. I now take Trileptal (among other meds) which was initially helpful with seizures, and is effective with bipolar too (still is)

'Daily Essential Nutrients,' which is made by Hardy Nutritionals, was designed for Bipolar Disorder. David Hardy was the formulator of Empowerplus and Daily Essential Nutrients. I've been using the Micronutrient since 2008 for mood disorders acquired from a Left Temporal Lobectomy.
