Has Anyone Had Any Problems With Their Seizures While Prepping For A Colonoscopy?
I was going to have a double procedure (Endoscopy/Colonoscopy) done in December of 2017, but luckily my Neurologist contacted me to say that it just wouldn't be a good idea due to my (@Tegretol) medication. In February of '17, I was hospitalized due to my @Tegretol level that was raised to the roof because of a stomach virus. So now, just for precautionary reasons, I'm just going in for an Endoscopy. Wish me luck!
Interesting ,I'm on tegretol. But good to be aware . I have my levels checked 6 monthly. Prayers to you
I wonder if it has something to do with the anesthesia and tegretol together. Just a thought.
I have always had trouble keeping my levels stable. Drs think I don’t take it or take too much. But I swear I don’t. I don’t take anything now and that is much of the reason. Is this a common problem?
I have to go for mine on 25th I am a bit nervous this time because I started new meds 5 months ago and still having some side affects just nervous only for the fact of being under and if something happens ... I do not know what to do...
I take my husband to have his tegretol and dilantin levels every 6 months plus he's on vimpat now. He still has seizures and he does everything right. Meds never missed, at least 6hrs sleep, eats 3meals day, etc.... But he had his colonoscopy done last year and I keep our calenders at least 3yrs bc that's where I mark down when and how many seizures hes had,and he had 3 seizures the day before his colonoscopy. Why would a neurologist not want you to have a colonoscopy? Is it from the risk of having a seizure during the procedure? Just curious.
