Did My Use Of Diet Pop During Pregnancy Cause The Epilepsy In My Children?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just read a disturbing article on aspartame, saying that it can cause seizures and even death. I did not realize 30 and 40 years ago that this was such a dangerous poison to be ingesting. My two children's seizures are intractable. DEAR GOD, DID I DO THIS TO MY KIDS?????

NO. don't be silly. aspartame is something that occurs naturally. everything can be poisonous if theres enough of it. this is a load of bullcrap that people with nothing better to do than frighten everyone with bad unreviewed "science"
if it was a 'dangerous chemical' then it wouldn't be in MOST things. stop letting the hype nonsense get to you

I drank diet pop during pregnancy and nothing happened to my kids. Definitely don't worry about that...it's a myth perpetrated by people paid to write those studies and who don't want diet pop companies to flourish.

aspertame excites your brain to death. diet pops are full of aspertame. the good thing is if you have a liter of diet pop 24/7, you will have slim to none for a long time.
