Do Many Of You Get Violent When Coming Round From A Tonic Clonic?

My wife has had epilepsy for 28 years but last 10 years it got worse then progressed further these last 5 where seizures were at least 5 different kinds including occasional clusters of tonic clonic, sometimes she gets violent when coming round from a tonic clonic, she is normally disoriented and determined to get up but is too unsteady to walk and would fall over so l gently coax her into lying down for at least 10 mins but last seizure she was not for staying still and lashed out screaming… read more

I think a lot of it has to do with the medication and how its reacting to the seizure. I have grand mal seizures. And I always com out disorientated. When I was on Lamictal I would come out swinging. Now I take Keppra and I'm more affectionate than anything. I don't remember any of it but everyone tells me about it. The long sleep is normal too.

I do sometimes but not often and as a first aider I’ve looked after people who have had seizures and in their postictle stage (immediate after seizure) some have presented that way but they have no control and some have little awareness or none at all of what they are doing

My son gets violent after his seizures. He's around 6ft 2 and 230 lbs. Impossible for one person to control.

I've taken every RX there is, to treat my Seizures!! I've even had two Brain Surgeries!! NOW, I'm getting prepared for the VNS Surgery, SOON!! I've had them since I was only 11months old!! A Newborn!!
