EPILEPSY, DEPRESSION, DEATH

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

If a number of us epileptics suffer from depression, and it's known epilepsy is depressing by itself, our meds for seizures are depressants themselves, and depression can be a terminal illness, then why hasn't any Epilepsy Foundation or Oganization supported: Epileptics Right To Die? "REMEMBER" Telling the DEPRESSED don't KILL yourself, is as GOOD as telling someone with a COLD, don't COUGH!

I didn't just experience Epilepsy and depression. I experienced anxiety. I've seen a psychologist, psychiatrist and council to help me with Depression and anxiety. It helped me but wasn't enough.
I thoughf of killing myself but why? To pass my anxiety and depression to my family? I will not let them experience it especially because of me. I had to accept Epilepsy as part of me and focus on the positive side to be able to control my depression and anxiety. I still have it all but what can I do? Just focus on the positive side. Those illness will help you find the family, friends and partner who'll be there for you through thick or thin. I shared my story on facebook. I can give you the link.

I wish we could find a counselor insurance would pay for by phone or online since I can’t drive since my drs want me to see one but none nearby and I’m not in a city
