Can't Handle More Than One Thing At A Time?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ambrose, GA

I know everyone else has this same issue. But yesterday at work, I was trying to handle 2 different things at one time, Basically filling in for our manager. He usually handles unexpected things like the one I was trying to do. He was coaching me over the phone. He has been filling in for another branch that has lost their manager. So he was not here. He was telling me to hunt this, hunt that. I couldn't find things and I could tell it was frustrating him, then in turn started to frustrate… read more

Me too. We can vent on here and no one is judgemental. They know exactly what we mean. Because they have walked in our shoes so to speak.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member same here. i work at an after school day care center. i can do 2 things at once (if i dont think about it) but if i have 3 things (or one of those things are thinking) then i am on 'autopilot'. i get overwhelmed and then i could barely think until the 2-3 or more things are done.
you dont have ssi or ssdi. you have seizures so you qualify. just get a drs note saying you have (your epilepsy here) and dr sign it. give it to the ssi people. if they deny it, get a lawyer that knows the stuff and start again.

You can get disability, or personal independence paypment (PIP), epilepsy is considered a life-changing condition that entitles you to support :)

Yeah, this happens to me sometimes. I get frustrated, but I let my boss know what's going on with me & that I can't handle more than one thing at a time

You know Melissa, I even forget what my life was like regularly and I complain about how it is now. Not that I am immune from having another seizure, but rather I rarely experience them now.

My hope is that one day, nobody has to experience another seizure and the ‘normal’ life of having epilepsy.

Until that day, I am grate for all of you who remind me that I am not alone.
