Epileptic Tattoos
Apologies if I have asked this before. I have a bracelet that says I suffer from epilepsy but it keeps breaking and I have to buy a new one. Instead I am thinking of having a tattoo that says I suffer from epilepsy. But I don't know if epileptics can have them because of the medication they are on or if there's a standard picture or design. What do you think?
I have three tattoos - you will be fine if you want to get one.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member only thing you have to watch while your taking it is NSAIDS due to they cause you to bleed more so that’s anything else.
Yes, you can get tattoos with epilepsy. I have two, both done since being diagnosed. The seizure meds shouldn't be a problem. I don't know if there would be a specific design or anything. I would say go for something on the inside of the wrist for location if you get it. Google search some ideas, like medical alert tattoo. A caduceus with epilepsy written under it would work well. Maybe even go into a local tattoo shop and describe what you might want and they may have some work they have done before or can come up with some creative ideas.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I have had an epilepsy bracelet but found I had to keep taking it off when I had a shower, had a shave, washed the dishes or anytime it might get damaged. Also at night sleeping with it on was uncomfortable. And with a poor memory I always forgot where I put it. That's why I wanted something permanent. I'm going to see my neurologist next week so I'm going to ask him the pros and cons.
I have 6 tattoos
