My seizures are crazy! I always was working. When we had our family my seizure would go into status. I was sent to John Hopkins. They saw my focus on their MRI. It was a birth defect. I had plenty of EEG’s, CT’s , MRI’s & mapping. Two surgeries previously. They found my focus deep in brain lying on a ventricle. I said phooey! I got a VNS. They were going to do surgery on the thalamus. I said no

I had lots of imaging done: MRIs, f-MRI, PET and CT scans, etc. They still don’t know where my seizures start.

i had a lot of mapping and imaging. mri and cat scan (ct scan). i did the mri, cat scan and veeg in the same day. with the mri and cat scan, the 1 thing that you have to do is to freeze for about a minute (or it seems like a minute). prep is a couple of minutes. you have to get all jewelry before you go into the machine (i know mri does that but idk with the cat scan).

I have had the greatest mapping done at John Hopkins. They detected my focus was deep in brain on ventricle. Prior mapping was in 70’s and 90’s during surgery. Wrong areas of focus! The newer procedures are more accurate!
