Does Medication Affect Dopamine Levels?
Dopamine is a brain chemical messenger responsible for memory and attention span. If the level of dopamine is reduced is the memory and attention span also reduced?
So Dopamine receptors. They make Epilepsy similar to things like Schizophrenia and Parkinson's. Dopamine plays it's highest role for Epilepsy in the Limbic system, Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. The Limbic system was something I had to study in college. Yay! I get this one! It does and it a ton of stuff, but this is about memories. So it mostly controls the Emotions felt in your memories. Old Emotions, and not so much if you can remember something like what a person looked like. It controls remembering how they made you feel, what an event that happened made you feel. Things like that. Dopamine is part of the Limbic System. It is a receptor on 2 levels. I am not even going to TRY to explain that part!
Medications can be made, but only for one of the two types of receptors. One of them is basically anti-epilepsy, and any meds to help Epilepsy will have negative effects on that type of receptor. The same happens for the treatment of Schizophrenia. Parkinson's specifically targets and kills both types of receptors.
Boom. I remembered it from college 15 years ago, but cant remember if I ate breakfast yesterday. Dopamine? Or just Dopey Me?
It seems to be different for everybody, but for me it does. especially my keppra which most know is notorious for causing mood swings. good luck to you :)
depends on the person. google said that 'Dopamine is not for home use. Dopamine may interact with droperidol, epinephrine, haloperidol, midodrine, phenytoin, vasopressin, diuretics (water pills), antidepressants, beta blockers, cough or cold medicine that contains antihistamines or decongestants, ergot medicines, phenothiazines. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.'
Yes dopomine is located in the frontal cortex of the brain Wich put you in a very great mood and helps your mind focus in the process when your levels are up,
Hi, I noticed that you were mentioning something about medicine that helps with your dopomine levels. Please stay away from stimulants because the lower your seizure threshold very bad and it can give you a high risk of having non-stop cluster seizures from where it increased my dopomine and serotonin levels too high and caused me to get over stimulated Wich caused the problems to happen very bad, I have to use stimulants due to my 4 sleeping disorders and it's not worth it. Most people have to use them for adhd, add, and narcolepsy, and if you have any of these conditions don't ever let your doctor try and put you on Adderall, because it's an amphetamine but not as strong as crystal meth and ridallin Wich is just like cocaine and Wellbutrin is bad for people with epilepsy also. There's alot of people that do have sleeping disorders due to being epileptic but everyone needs to stay away from those particular drugs because some doctor's wont look into the interactions and side affects of medication sometimes before they prescribe them to you.
