Did Anyone Have Night Terrors Before Being On Medication(specifically Lamictal) And Now Don't?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Pre Epilepsy and specifically since adapting to Lamotrigine I used to have night terrors / hallucinations everyday for 2 weeks on and off roughly every 3 months. I've not had any after being on Lamotrigine for 8 months. It's now been over a yr since I had bad night terrors so I thought maybe it's from the medication given they are also used for bipolar disorder.

When I was on Potiga , it increased my dreams between 3-5 dreams a night. My dreamers all over the place. They could be weird, nightmares, humor, happy, and the ones that feel close to real. But never experienced it with Lamictal

I have nightmares sometimes, even on Trileptal,(oxcarbazepine) but they aren't too bad and Trileptal has been the safest medicine for my epilepsy I've ever taken. Topamax was the most dangerous and on Depakote I gained over 100 pounds in less than one year and have had a weight problem ever since. My PCP tried to convince me it was menopause.

I have taken that one also with my Keppra 750mg. Lamicital 500mg. Trilepital 750mg. I maxed out on all three. I am still on the Keppra, but on something else to replace the other two. I also had the "Gama Knife." Done on me it didn't work. Then I agreed to this VNS , it didn't work either.....
