My wife and I have been together for 14 Years, 8 years married and 6 years dating. Recently she had 2 seizure episodes, one back in March and the most recent for Father day while we were driving with our kids in the car, Luckily I was able to take control of the car and get it to a safe spot and took her to the hospital, They did all test on her and she came back negative on everything. She was prescribed Keppra on 6/20/22 at 750mg twice a day and she felt dizzy during the day, Her doctor… read more

Giorgio this is serious. Youre a good partner for coming on here. Keppra destroyed my life & many others too, this drug is notorious (particularly titrating up) and far beyond hard drugs in how people react to it. People will write their wills & sell their belongings for suicide like its not big deal. She might be volatile right now but she needs warmth and understanding. the anger you feel on this drug feel like its coming from your environment & loved ones only later you realise "oh god that was kepprage what have I done" these responses are the norm. I recommend getting to a DR asap, trying the newer analogue of keppra Brivaracetam. she will experience less side effects & can switch to that drug right away. In the meantime try vitamin b6 or b complex this will help her mood & side effects somewhat. cannabis or benzodiazepines might also help in the short term. but this is the drug itself. At some point she will likely say "did you think I liked saying things I didnt mean". Take care & talk to us here we've been through it first hand

It sounds like she is experiencing extreme side effects to Keppra. Keppra has the side effects of making people rage, angry, change in behavior and Personality

You may want to talk to her Dr. And try a different medication..

Many people on here, call Keppra ……….

The Rage drug
Devil’s / Satan’s drug
Evil drug

I’m sure there are still other names for it. Those were the few from the top of my head

To add salt to the injury I found out she started an affair soon after all this developed with a married man that has a daughter who was a friend. I found conversations and phone call logs. I have retained a divorce lawyer to get legal counsel, I am ripped into a million pieces in a matter of weeks. I don’t wish this on anyone. I feel so guilty and we failed our kids.

I can tell you my mood would flip on a dime when on keppra. I was angry or crying all the time. Lived about a year that way. Talk to her Dr. Keppra may not be helping

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Maybe you could talk to her doctor & get them to change her meds. Keppra is known to cause mood swings. I was on it for about a month & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping at night & so I got off it. I pray your wife heals & things can get worked out. Sending Thoughts, Hugs & Prayers. Your friend in Texas, Becky
