Has Anyone Gotten Operations Called Respective Surgery Or RNS Surgery For Their Epilepsy? Has It Worked And Become Seizure-free?
Resective surgery for epilepsy is when they remove a small portion of the brain. RNS, a neurostimulator is placed under the scalp and within the skull.
I had the R.N.S implanted in my skull in September. My seizures have gone way down!! I keep a log and now I have on average 2 blackout seizures and a few auras a month. I use to have a seizure every 9 days! I go in to see the doctor every 3months for a adjustment and it is getting so much better. My advice is to talk with your doctor to see if you are able to get it. Also ask about oxcarbamazapine tablets. Those 2 combinations have changed my life!!

Scares the poop out of me
I had a resective surgery in 2000 and been seizure-free ever since.
I have a VNS (which doesn't require cutting into the skull)
The VNS is working fine for me, of course I still get episodes but not as often or as intense.
The RNS requires that the skull be cut open. I decided
