Thats an aura. I only have auras instead of petite mals, off meds id have petite mals. I didnt have an aura before i had them, thats more common with tonic clonic. Theres many different types of auras also, a funny smell, funny taste in your mouth, your leg or arm goes numb randomly, a deja vu feeling in my stomach is what i get. I got the term deja vu from my doctors when i was young, meaning someone else had the feeling before. But i have an aura and thats it. I believe you have tonic clonic correct? So when you smell that prepare yourself or whoever is with you.

Yes, it is. It’s an aura to let you know a seizure is coming. I smell a cake burning! Not sure where my body came up with that!

That sounds like an Aura. It’s a form of of a seizure, but consider it a warning sign. A bigger seizure will follow most of the time. Just make sure you put yourself in a safe spot where you won’t injure yourself when you go through the big seizure.

I get funny tastes. I’ll write down the day and time. When we go see the RNS team they do usually see seizure activity there. They’ve told me they are auras. I’ve been known to have a seizure right after one.
