OMG. I never even thought about that. I have been on Lamictal since 2017 triesd several others but that's the only one I can tolerate. My vision has gone to absolute crap, everything is blurry. I Just had an exam because it is really bothering me. The glasses aren't even helping too much. I have had high pressure in my eyes since before the meds, so they always wanted to keep tabs on them, but he said my right eye is now cloudy and I have to go get a glaucoma exam. I am definitely gonna ask about that.

Like I always say, Seizure meds are an necessary evil. The drs. Have one goal no more seizures I can understand that goal but realistically. Think about us who have bad side effects u can't just live with. I really hate seizure meds.

Yesterday I had appt. W/ Epileptologist nurse practioneer. I have problem w/ looking down stairs. My eyes go blurry. I had headaches starting in my neck and staying in the range in both occipital sides of my head. I told my gate goes off to the right. She asked me to take my glasses off. Try strengthening your right eye which appears weaker. I walk the dog w/o my glasses outside. I cannot read signs but can focus to the needs of the dog. My balance is better. The nurse said your glasses may be causing it. I have worn glasses for 20 years. I now but them on for reading only! My first aura were pulsating spots in my right upper quadrant of my right eye that grows till I cannot see and then I am out! I have appt. W/ a Opthomologist.

get your eyesight checked for a baseline and new glasses if needed... then you and your drs know what maybe going on after that.. you can look at the side effects of meds

That's a great question! I'm interested if you get more responses. I am on the Lamotrigine/Oxcarbazepine combination that my epileptologist is convinced in the combinatination that will reduce or eleminate my seizures. (Go meds!) But once I was built up to the MG amount on the Oxcarbazepine he wanted me to be on, it was then that my eyes flat out hurt. I mean hurt and twitched. So he reluntantly reduced the strength amount thinking that I would have just gotten used to my eyes being in that condition vs. the seizures being reduced.

The other part of your question about whether or not seizures could have an effect on vision: My experience is that seizures can have a lot of negative effects on the brain, which translate over into the body. Everything is breaking down in me. Some people have been honest in their feedback to me - "You're breaking down as you age." Even my eye doctor said this to me. Unfortunately, I have the tonic-clonic variety of seizures. I can really hurt myself in my sleep. My eyesight is "slower" after a seizure; it slightly twitches for a day and then clears up. This happens every one to two weeks. And I have to live with it. I've done what I can and just keep going.

Keep going. Great question. Thanks.
