Does Anyone Have An Opinion About Cannabis Oil For Epilepsy?

I take CBD oil twice daily for my drug resistant focal epilepsy. Thought hasn't fully controlled my seizures, it has helped reduce the amount of seizures I have and their severity better than any anti-seizure medication I have tried (and I have tried pretty much all of them). All medication would help me for usually about a month, and then my brain would overpower them and the seizures would return in full. What probably helps me most is that you can take a 72 hour break from the CBD oil if the seizures start returning, as by doing so you desensitise yourself to it. So after taking this break the CBD starts controlling my seizures again to the same extent it was prior.

I used to take it for anxiety and it made a huge difference for me.

Hi Jacqueline3, yes this is something I would love to have an answer to myself. I have given my husband cbd oil in the past but I don’t give it to him regularly. It is hard to know if it works as he doesn’t currently have regular seizures. I have heard somewhere that if using it, it can dull our own bodies cannabinoid receptors as the cbd has a much stronger affinity for the receptors compared to our bodies natural cannabinoids which may pose trouble down the track (less production of our own natural cannabinoid). It isn’t supposed to have any addicting properties though. Has anyone got any scientific answers for this? Or any success stories?

No. I do not. I do give CBD to my dog for her bad, arthritic hips. She was getting a point of not walking even outside to potty. I was messaging her and giving her treats with bone supplements. But then my partner suggested I try CBD. Within a month, she was walking better and better. She gets that twice a day, First after she potties outside in the morning. Last is her last potty at night. I am not so certain it would work for myself for myoclonus, atonic drops and nocturnal frontal lobe seizures. Maybe would work at night but not sure if it would exacerbate myoclonus and drops. So, I am not considering it.
