Mental Health In Epileptics
I have Epilepsy as well as PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, & now Bipolar 2. I thought I read somewhere a lot of Epileptics had some of these mental health issues. I have all 4. Is this common?
Sometimes I’m not sure if IT’s medication, epilepsy or work related stress, as my home life is good
I have PTSD, anxiety and I’m a chronic overthinker, lack sleep, which makes me emotionally drained
Shell2. I agree at this stage in my life I am having a hard time figuring out if it long term side effects from all the meds, I’ve been on over the last 30 years or if it really is mental illness either way, you would think somebody would’ve had this figured out by now. I personally have been trying to figure out which is more important to my overall health treating the mental health or treating the epilepsy. I wish there was a way to do both if you find one, let me know.
I have twin aunts that are retired nurses & say the meds can cause it. I'm on SSDI, so it can't be work. Home life is fine. So it has to be the Epilepsy or the meds😁
Lack of sleep too & from what I'm told an overthiner. It's nice to have people with problems in common. I don't feel so weird.
