I am currently maxed out on both my AED’s. Both Topamax and Vimpat. I also take celexa for antidepressants. I suffer from PTSD. And within the past two weeks, I’ve had a great deal with flare ups of bad dreams, to almost night mares. The flare ups, and been more frequent in the night, and more tolerable in the day
I was curious as to if any one of you folks, suffer with anything related to this, and have found a cure/remedy, or trigger to what it may be? I take a few more migraine treatments.… read more

Anytime you are maxed out on medication you are taking; it is time to ask your doctor about changing your meds. Is there a conflict your seizure meds and your antidepressants? You can find out with this website; www.drugs.com
Hope you will feel better soon.

You mean this site? Exactly! I’ve learned more here about living sanely with this disease in the last 6 months, than from most of the doctors I’ve come in contact with over the past 30 years.

I have C-PTSD from past traumas that I never was able to face and tackle emotionally, and I’m only currently getting therapy to deal with them now. But as for the effects of the epilepsy, IT can cause depression and anxiety on its own, especially in women (aren’t we always the lucky ones). So I imagine the effects of the epilepsy could be complicating the treatment for the C-PTST. I hadn’t thought of that. I am making progress, albeit slowly…

Have a very good evening, and I hope the rest of your week is seizure free!
