A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

On Wednesday as i was getting changed i noticed a werid looking rash on my upper thigh on my left leg I've never had a rash like that appear on my leg and was going to see the doctor about it but it disappeared when I looked at again a few hours later so I didn't tell my GP about the rash as it wasn't present anymore .

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member This may be Livedo Reticularis, it is often a harmless skin reaction to cold environments. Your outlook depends on the type and cause. Primary livedo reticularis often goes away shortly after warming the affected area. Secondary livedo reticularis is likely to go away with treatment for the underlying medical issue.
Either way check w/ your GP.
The 3 primary types, each w/ list of underlying causes can be reviewed at the link below to Cleveland Clinic.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member the only thing with "cold" as a cause is the way it's written is very broad so I'm not sure whether they mean the cold as in cold weather or cold as in you catch a cold and it could be caused by a virus. To be it could be caused by both scenarios but I'm not a GP so I'm not sure to be honest.

It looks like there are three main categories for causes of these, 1. Idiopathic (unknown at this point) 2. Cold or 3 there is an underlying cause.
