Has Anyone Had Or Has Their Child Had A Frontal Lobe Resection Surgery? If So, How Did It Work Out?
I too did the Left Temporal Lobe surgery. No experience with Frontal Lobe surgery. It helped reduce my seizure frequency from severe to mild and moderate seizures.
Hi Martin, I'm very glad your surgeries dramatically lessened your seizures! Congrats on your 4 degrees. That is AWESOME!!! I appreciate the well wishes for my son. All my best!!! Alisa
I have not had a frontal lobe resection, but I have experienced two left-hemisphere partial temporal lobectomy procedures in 1998 and 2000. These strongly reduced the severity and frequency of my seizure activity, from being on average seven times a week (including 3 in one day) to currently once a week (mostly whilst sleeping). As it is a procedure to reduce seizure activity, it does not always completely stop the seizures. However, the reduction allowed me to later study and complete four university degrees. I now teach tertiary education to both students and staff members at a managerial level about the importance of living and working with people who experience neurodiverse conditions, like epilepsy. I cannot say what will be the consequences of your child's frontal lobe resective procedure, but I do wish both him and the rest of your family well.
