Do you all find that you keep up with your drug interactions better than your doctors?
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yes it can get a little confusing if you are on more than one. Generally though if you do get a side effect then look it up there's always the chance both drugs can cause it. I'm not sure what you would work or the exact drug in that case. Sometimes you may be on more than one and then get a side effect that is only caused by a particular med. It just depends on what the side effect is.
Yes, I keep up more with my med than Drs appointments. But I also have a good excuse. My Epileptologist is 2 1/2 - 3 hours away. If the traffic is bad it may take longer . There have been many times, where my wife and I had to reschedule the appt. , because of the traffic. The Road constructions were even worse.
Mary the DRs are not living the real world. We are. We have to deal with the day to reactions of our meds and disease, Knowing what triggers your seizures and staying hydrated and rested . Common sense stuff. Extra meds in the heat. ericthom3 FOOD -Humor
Yes I totally agree with you, even in hospital they tried giving me the wrong dose, but I know what I can take, after 55 years of taking meds, I won't take nothing I know I can't take, we are all different to how medication has a affect on us. Take care.
I do stop drugs from interactions better my self cause alot of doctors have made my life worse but now I double check before I take any medication by the book or Internet.
