If he doesn’t have an actual Neurologist / Epileptologist , then get him set up with one of those specialists ( preferably Epileptologist ) . They can have you husband , do certain tests and figure out , if he truly has epilepsy or not. They can also figure out what seizure types he’s experiencing.
Then they can refigure out the right medication(s’) for him . This includes other possible path of treatments
