Ben, I agree with Rusti: Definitely get another opinion. You sound like my situation for the first 35 years of my 'condition'. Then ten years ago I saw someone else, and was diagnosed with epilepsy. The following treatment has helped my quality of life tremendously. Don't wait a couple decades to find the right doctor. Look now!

My father had a few seizures. They were non epileptic. He has to be on an anticonvulsant for awhile to make sure nothing else happens, he can't drive for 6 months either, and he has to have a couple of MRIs. After that 6 months, there's nothing else to worry about.
