Would I Still Be Classed As Having TLE After This?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Has anyone been diagnosed with TLE so you get focal, generalised TC seizures but later on had testing only to find out that some of the seizures you get are coming from other lobes in the brain not just the Temporal Lobe
This is basically what it looks like has happened to me.

Has anyone else had this or something similar happen? I'm just trying to figure out whether I would still be classed as having TLE after this or whether it's now something completely different.

Seizures have the capability to morph as the brain and neuro pathways change with time. My seizures have become different many times before during this 28 years of seizures. I noticed they will change with the big seasonal changes as well. Like Hot to cold general weather patterns, the amount of day light changes, the angle of light changes as well, and even the general atmosphere becomes less or more crowded with pollen and spores and the such. Those are big changes for our body to compensate and the brain is the main Host of this need to adapt. I believe these subtle energies have a huge impact on our general health and state of Well Being.

Short Answer: Seizures can change, and change is the OnLY constant...
just keep a good relationship with your neurologist and let them know everything!!!

If the majority of your seizures are coming from the Temporal Lobe, then yes . You are considered with TLE . Most of my seizures are Left Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. But I also have a couple of my seizures in different ares of the brain.

I have always been under the impression that my focal seizures were a result of temporal lobe epilepsy. The neurologist that I started seeing earlier this year informed me that the scarring to my brain is in my frontal lobe, and that when I have seizures they can move to different parts of my brain.

The answer is yes. I totally agree w/ @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Left Temporal Lobe Focus, and still have seizures emanating from other portions of the brain.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yeah I will have to ask about it at my next appointment, hopfully he doesn't turn around and say something like "Oh there were no changes" when there clearly is.
