Preictal Phase

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I think this question has been asked and answered, but have you had preictal phases that lasted for days? Before my last seizure, I was feeling very out of sorts, as in brain fog, dizzy, forgetfulness, and a generalized fear that something was going to happen for 2 days before my seizure.

I have heard of this phrase. It reminds me of absence seizures. where walking and talking. playing cards, preparing a meal, you realize that you must put the knife down before you seize out. Nap time ericthom3

Over the years I've just learned to pay attention to my body and what's around it. I've come to the point where I can sometimes feel like there's an "energy inside me" within 24-48hrs before I have an episode.

It's no fun. You can tell what a seizure disorder holds for you in the future. Just play it safe & don't do anything that could hurt yourself or someone else. Can't change the past & I promise it's something very hard to live with. When you make a mistake. So just be careful and know there are people here for you.

You should be careful with your rest. 1 Of the first things I learned when it was discovered I was epileptic is it’s important about how much sleep you get. Nit getting enough could cause a seizure. (Not always though.)
