Looking For New Hobby Ideas And Ways To Meet New People - Suggestions?
I had to give up music and performing since there were no active bands in the area and I used to play at church, but no longer identify with any religion
I used to work at open houses as a seasonal gig but the whole no driving thing has made it difficult and they wouldn't hire me back when I lost my drivers license. They won't hire me as a weekend leasing specialist or receptionist when they find out I have epilepsy since I'm there by myself so I've stopped applying

Could you not get a friend or family member to drive you?
I am not able to drive myself, but I am very fortunate that I have my daughter. But I have to admit it can be very frustrating when you want to go somewhere and can not just jump in your car and go!
That was very hard for me to except! I'm recently diagnosed with epilepsy , and had been driving before that for many years.
I myself am not working at the moment. I fell at work and broke my arm in three places and hit my head, knocking me out. This is what started the seizures. They call it a TBI. I spent almost a full month in the hospital, in and out of seizures. I don't remember a whole lot of that time.
I am still having break through seizures. I am scheduled to go back into the Hospital on April 1st for 5 days and nights of observation. They are going to induce seizures to try to pinpoint what part of my brain is being affected the most.
Right now I am doing
some simple art work and reading. Those are my only hobbies. I play memory games, because ever since that first bad seizure, which lasted 26 hours, my memory is very bad.
Good luck to you and I wish you well!
Terrie
I understand how it feels having no contact with anyone. All my family and friends are also living in other states, got messed up on drugs, or dead. I do have the opportunity to find volunteer work but no social life with friends also. Two things that may be helpful is maybe a seizure service alert dog that are extremely expensive to buy or you can get one for free at a non-profit service dog training camp. I got mine at a non-profit organization Canine Partners For Life email k94life.org These dog may warn you of seizures 1 to1.5 hrs before seizures. Mine doesn't warn me of my seizures 50%. She does that decreasing of stress, showing of great friend, trusting, loving and more. Also, Did you ever look into the Epilepsy Foundation email epilepsy.com. They are extremely helpful since other than just having support groups they also do have other things to do like go out bowling one night or go away for something a weekend for something. A few other things good about this organization is this stuff is all free for you, other epileptics and at least one other to go with you. Also when it comes to transportation to get to these places they also will set up free transportation for you. Maybe check them out may help somehow. WISH YOU THE BEST!!!
Why did you lose your religion? It sounds to me you need spiritual guidance. If you had it, you would feel good about life and stop complaining what you do not have, and celebrating on being you.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, MyEpilepsyTeam won't allow me to post about how to sell your images, but I'd suggest you look up "stock photography".
