What Do 'aura' Look Like For You?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How do auras present to you?

They are described very generically in a book I was recommended & I'm unsure whether I'm experiencing aura or it's 'just me' if that makes sense

My typical auras were the following: a feeling like the temperature dropped by like 30 degrees and a feeling in my stomach.

I think that auras can vary for people just like seizures can. I had a traumatic brain injury at age 11. I was not diagnosed with epilepsy until I was 17. My first big seizure (not related to trauma) happened when I was 16. During the years after my injury, until my diagnosis (5 years), I used to have these weird feelings. We thought perhaps they were panic attacks. My parents had not been warned to look for signs of seizures. In retrospect, we now know that I was having the beginnings seizure activity throughout those years. I used to call those feelings psychos. I had a feeling of deja vu, tightness in my chest and throat, a metallic taste, and a tingling in my nose. They terrified me.
