Has Anyone Started To Study The Brain? "Sodium Channels" "depolarization Of Nerons"
Let's draw this out. What are these medications actually doing. How can we fine tune which ones we take?
My Epileptologist has a team that is studing me for my Progress with my DBS ( deep brain stimulator ) .
They are studing how well it works for reducing my seizures .
ok, Sodium Channels are integral membrane proteins that form ion channels, conducting sodium ions through a cell's membrane.
depolarization is In biology, depolarization or hypopolarization is a change within a cell, during which the cell undergoes a shift in electric charge distribution, resulting in less negative charge inside the cell compared to the outside.
depolarization Of Nerons is a change in the nerons cell.
they are not meds but the miner to mayor factors of a cause to epilepsey. if you change to quickly in the brain, you will missfire and have a seizure(s).
If you google "mechanism of action" you will learn how they work. Some of the meds, the mechanism of actions are still relatively unknown. The other thing is some meds even though they may know what the mechanism of action is there may be more. This is more related to newer meds.
I began to focus on the brain areas when looking into the device surgery that would be taking place as of 2008 and even more so in 2011. The Deep Brain Device surgery device had me very focused because of information showing promises how well it has worked for patients in Europe and in Italy for Epilepsy prior to my surgery in 2011.
I was shown that information first during a discussion with my neurosurgeon then performed research after our meeting which gave me not only hope but also insight about the device I would be using for Epilepsy. Being an advocate and performing research helped so much as I learned with all the reading through medical journals domestic and international.
