I just had a seizure in front of my aunt and her husband out of no where it was all caused by a firetruck and every time you have one do you apologize to everyone for having it

It's good to have people come to an understanding, isn't it!
I used to have seizures all the time out in front of other people - actually still do but, not as often, since neurosurgery helped me a lot. It just wasn't a complete cure but, I'm heaps better.

My wife is my caregiver, I have them in front of her every day. All the police, fire, paramedics and the hospital know me and my wife as well as some of the stores in this small town. I have a lot of them out in public, those that don't know or understand what's going on just stand around looking confused. All of my family know of the issue- My wife's mom thought I was faking it to make people feel sorry for me, and it was all just a joke until she actually witnessed me in one. Then apologized to me and my wife for her action's afterwords.

Yeah, it happens all the time. I had one in front of my niece. I don't apologize because it's not something I can control.

I have seizures in front of family members, at church, even in grocery store(s), & anyone who said anything either a family member or on occasion the EMT' s will tell them to be quiet because they don't what they're talking about, therefore don't understand what seeing or saw.

SaraTellier, the fact that you have them randomly like that is not your fault. That said, I personally would probably say “excuse me for causing a commotion,” but it is not out of guilt. Unfortunately for people with our condition, we cannot intentionally control when, or in what way we have the seizures, other than to make sure we take our meds. And you can;t control the sirens, either, so please don’t feel guilty! I wish you all the best, and I am pleased to meet you…
