How Do You Handle Dizziness And Fatigue Associated With Briviact? Used To Take Generic Keppra But Had Severe Depression.
I noticed you are having some light sensitivity issues now that you are on Briviact. I started having light sensitivity when they tried to take me off of Depakene and put me on Keppra. I found that the Keppra made me depressed and irritable. Turned out it was because I was being given the generic instead of the brand name. The excess fillers used in the generic were causing increased Kepprage. When they switched me over to brand name they were able to lower the dosage in mg to let my brain relax more naturally. They also put me on Topamax to counteract the weight gain issues instigated by the brand name Keppra. Oh for your light sensitivity issues. Your epilepsy doctor can write you a prescription for some blue light filter lenses that can be filled by your optometrist and should be covered by major medical. I have some. They turn all bright colors a non blinding blue tint.
Thank you, Rusti. This is good to know. I noticed something else new with Briviact and was wondering if you had similar experience. I have difficulty watching anything HD - start getting a horrible headache and a weird feeling in my head. Same with even the flash from a camera. This is new to me. Have/do you experience the same??? Thanks in advance!
I have just a tiny bit of it. But after some time of taking the drug, they are not as bad. It depends on the person and your seizures. For some it may take 4 to 6 weeks for their body to adjust to side effects.
I have dizziness and fatigue on Lamotrigine, and off it, as well. Tried halving the dose and it was no better, bc the auras of dizziness came back, as well as palpitations and some weird auras in my sleep related to palpitations. Just laid there half asleep dimly aware something was not right. I was hoping to switch to Briviact, actually, but maybe not. Sigh.
Also, I get auras with TV and movies flashing lights amd ultra fast scene changes.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, i have never experienced anything like that. But there are some people that can't watch tv in the dark or go to the movies due to the flashing of the change in scenery. Some people should try to watch some light on to help reduce the sudden change in the movie.
