48 Hour EEG
Has it actually help the doctor understand your brain or was it just a waste of time?!
My daughter's was a waste of time. Was supposed to be 48 hours. She was discharged after only 22 hours because no seizures occurred overnight. Of course when we got home after about 5 hours she had a full on tc. We will be searching for a second opinion.
An EEG is made to detect seizure activity and, in some cases, it may be used to work out where it comes from. So no, not a waste of time.
yes it has. i used to have idopathic seizures (the i don't know the cause seizures)... with eeg testing (without sleep test, without med test, eye test, without food test, drs figured out i have food seizures (auto immune systom problems). the only downside with any eeg is you have to have the seizure while doing the testing. having a seizure before or after the test will not count.
I've never had a 48 hour EEG. The longest EEG I've had was 24 hours. Unfortunately, while I was doing the test I just happened to have a few seizures, due to humidity level both inside our trailer & outside. We have AC's but they have little free-on in them, so they don't cool the trailer unless go outside & either spray motors down or throw water on motors, to cool them down & therefore cool the rooms.

All of my EEG’s have lasted 1 week. I never seemed to have any of my bigger seizures they they ended up being more of a waste of time.
