@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, my dr is the one that brought it to my attention!!! Trust me to let my dr know, I've been on all seizure meds past 17yrs except 4 due to side effects so I know to let my dr if I experience anything different.
My appetite has decreased dr knows that, just says if snack during day and 1 meal day try that. However, still notice effects. Dr and I worry as I still have seizures and thinking increase dosage but worries about.my quality of life,as.it.as greatly diminished. Dr rather do increase than change meds as there is only 4 left to try. So afraid what if I have worse side effects with those, not many other meds to try. So, rather deal with weight loss than any other side effects I've experienced with many other seizure meds.

Yes, I have. I've experienced a loss of appetite and weight. I'm in the hospital right now because my electrolytes are out of sync from mot eating or drinking enough water.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I’m glad your doctor noticed your weight loss. I’ve read on this site that when some had trouble with medications helping to control their seizures, they looked into surgery & many different team members on here have had different surgeries, like @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member has the RNS & it reduced his seizures a little but he still has a few but before that he got the VNS but it didn’t help him much & so he had it removed & got the RNS. But the different types of surgeries works different for everyone. A few have on here have also had the deep brain surgery. Just keep visiting with your doctor about the options available. I hope things get better for you. Sending Thoughts, Hugs & Prayers. Your friend in Texas, Becky

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , The first thing to do is to let your doctor know what’s going on. They can’t help you if you don’t tell them. They will give it thought & decide the best way to handle it. Several years ago I had to get off my Topamax because it made me loose to much weight. Good luck. Your friend in Texas, Becky

12 , I was a medication (Zonagran ? ), that I was on and it made me loose weight .
I went in for my check up with my Epileptologist .and I had some weight loss. I think my Dr. got worried . He took me off it and put me on a different med.
