Yes, they are considered a seizure. There must be complete control before the license can be returned. Trust me even then they fight very hard. I had to talk to two different eye doctors and a behind-the-wheel driver. I had to have the approval of the Neurologist and then I had to pay off the fees that I would have had over a decade before when the accidents had happened because of my seizures. They thought this would deter me from driving. I have now been driving for more than five years.

I have an RNS so whenever I have an aura I mark it with a magnet. When doctors look at results from my RNS they usually do see seizure activity. One time I was at the neurologist and they were looking at my brain waves on the RNS. I started to feel an aura but it was small so I didn’t say anything. My doctors then looked at me and said “You’re having an aura aren’t you?”. So auras are partly seizures.

Technically yes they are seizures. In terms of driving countries will have different laws/rules around it. Where I am they do let you drive but you must monitor and have minimum auras.

Thank you I have been driving after my arura in December but the neurologist and the DVLA say I can not drive now, I am in control of all my movements and thought when they happen and even after, but they say I can not drive because the medication is stopping a full blown seizure
That the point of medication
It caused by the radiotherapy I had in June last year and the swelling in my brain
