Does Anyone Have Tremors As A Side Effect From AED's? I Have Been On Lacosamide And Am Noticing Slight Tremors.
I had different problems w/ meds. The twitching I had it w/ Depakote. My Epileptologist gave me a cardiac medication. After a few days, it stopped!
Lacosamide , I had trouble w/ my right side of face. My right Trigeminal went numb! Medications can be helpful but at times they are a challenge!
Give you a hug about shingles! It was in my face into my eye left side! I

That's the kind of tremors I'm having. It's so frustrating! I'm a mixed media artist, and when I'm doing any detail work, I struggle to hit my mark.
Handwriting is difficult now.
I was brushing it off as anxious or tired, but it's getting more noticeable. I was trying to pluck my eyebrows and had to stop cuz I was afraid I'd stab my eye.
It's weird, I've been on the lacosamide for almost a year now, the tremors have only started plaguing me in the last few months. So it took a while.
Yes. Because of my Bipolar 2 and complex PTSD, I was also on Lithium, but my AEDs were Lamictal and Klonopin. Last year I began with severe spontaneous disorientation episodes and constant tremors. They were slow, Parkinson's-like tremors, as opposed to caffeine jitters. We dropped the Lithium and everything greatly improved, but the tremors, though not nearly as bad, are still present, only now just on the Lamictal and Klonopin. It takes two hands to put a screwdriver into a screw, I don't trust myself swinging a hammer, after retiring from 30 years as a toolmaker and machinist. Most of it should be muscle memory, but my "aim" took a hit, and the tremors are the cause. I drop things a lot too. It's very obvious to an onlooker watching me trying to do fine, close work. I scratched my eyeglass lens with the little screwdriver today just trying to tighten the arm and slipping as a result of the tremors. The harder I fight them the worse they get.
I have developed a tremor on my left side, in my arm, hand, and neck. I have asked my neurologist about it, and apparently they can be caused by the meds or by epilepsy itself. But he told me that once they start, there’s little to no chance of getting them to stop. As I understand it, we’re basically left with a choice between the seizures or the tremors. It’s another example of the new realities we’re offered, and of the options, I know which one I choose.
I wish I had other ideas. I wish you all the best…
