As For The Med Bracelet And Such Etc, I Get What They're For, But Do You Think You Need One?
My condition is more stable than before and I do have them time to time, but nobody since I have had my condition said you should have a med bracelet or such since being diagnosed with my condition.
I think it’s very important for all emergency personnel ( Paramedics , police, and Fire Departments ) to be alert for those of us who are wearing emergency bracelets or necklaces.
I also believe that any one around me , outside my home . They will have an idea what is going on with me , when they see one of the emergency necklace, or bracelets
I have one, I’m one of those better safe than sorry people.
I have one and feel a little safer with it. May not need it but who knows for sure
I've worn one since I had my first grand mal. My older sister surprised me with a gorgeous gold one with epilepsy etched in the back. I put it on the gold chain I was wearing. She said if you have to wear one it might as well be classy. I've had a few heart times where I was picked up and they looked to see if I was wearing an alert. Each time they said she has epilepsy as well. So yeah it's important to wear.
I agree with Randi. Once we start having seizures, there is always the potential for another (I have a friend who didn’t have one for 20 years, and then suddenly they came back). It is essential for medical personnel to know if you already have the condition, what medications you are on, and it is VITAl they know any allergies and contraindications! So, yes I do recommend wearing one. I wear a bracelet from Medic Alert with a phone number medical personnel can call to find out your information.
