I have been using MedicAlert for over 20 years. I have a bracelet and a wallet card. They have many styles of bracelets for you to choose from. You can also get a necklace. EMS does look for those. The standard bracelet is stainless steel. Mine is sterling silver with a Figaro style chain. I think you can even get gold if you want it. They have improved and increased their options a great deal over the years. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to have something pretty!

I use MedicAlert bracelets. I think the company has been in business longer than some of the other ones. The other thing I believe - the bracelet has to be kind of ugly because if it is cute, it may get overlooked by EMS or other medical personnel.

I ordered a medical ID bracelet on Amazon. Less than $20.

I too have used Medic Alert for 26 years. It gives the emergency personnel on the bracelet and through the 800 number your medical info and current medications (you have to update it yourself when your treatment plan changes). Mine has saved my life many times! You do have to pay a fee for the bracelet. I wish you the best in your decision, you deserve the best!
