Ok. So you do that. Cool. Have you considered how traumatizing this is for some people to hear this, then think of applying it to their condition. Opposed to encouraging
The medication I take helps me remember.... who my kids are, where I live, how to pick up this phone and use or remember I have this communication device. Not all seizure conditions are the same, some people are better living with or managing the side effects. I'm glad to hear some people can manage their condition without… read more

I don’t think anyone can truly ignore any pharmaceutical medicines . Using common sense, is the right choice for AED pharmaceutical drugs. Choosing to stop taking any AED is the worst choice to decide..

Then there are all the many brand name OTC drugs. I can guarantee that those people hove OTC meds in their home. Those are also pharmaceutical.

You are still on real AEDs to help seizures but you adjusted to them. Please clarify before saying to others that all meds are bad.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member ok, i am on both the keto diet, cbd, and keppra and phenobarb. if i do not take the cbd, i have daily seizures. my cbd calms the brain, and that calms the 1st wave of seizures (warning seizures). keto is a mix bag. sometimes its every other day, sometimes its a whole week without. i know this cause i had the keto diet when i was a kid to tween... cbd was bre pandemic (2017-2018). i am on the keto diet... but i don't weigh everything. yes i have seizures... no it is not cause the seizure meds are working... yes with the keto diet and cbd, i can get a couple of months seizure free (without is seizing every day). that is a win in my book.

bryn So you're not on AEDs but your seizures are controlled by keto diet + cbd oil ? With all the eegs must show a change in brain waves during a seizure that confirm that they are epileptic. Cannabis is usually just an add on that helps calm CNS but can't stop seizures. I've tried various meds may as you said just get used by brain so don't work after a bit. Still have seizures but meds stave off biggies. Know what can happen w/o. The keto diet didnt help and didn't care for.

I am glad you talk about your family helping. I have a really great husband and friends who care alot. It makes a huge difference. And then there are the cats...one of them is like a dog, wanting attention, when he is not sleeping. The other comes to me and lays on me when I am having a hard time. And kids are just so great. I love being around them. No judgement on anyone's approach.
I just want to learn more. Thanks for your post. Hope you are having a great day, Jacque3.
