I tried Depakote and it affected my ammonia levels and had to stop the medication. Went back to phenobarbital. I also tried keppra which made me cry for 2 days straight. Needless to say stopped that one. Added lamotrigine to the phenobarbital several years ago. I have no auras so I don't believe that I would be able to think away my seizures.

Asking here will only kead to confusion for self.As you can see all answers vary some just anti-meds too. Focus on your own type Dr knows best bout how to treat. With so many to choose from any bad sides from any Dr will take you off it. Best side of all is control of the nasty seizures too.

Your doctor should know that and be able to help you with something different

That would be a question for your doctor. We are all different. What works for one person may not work for another person.
