Fitness Trackers
I am trying to decide if it was just heat exhaustion but when I wore a Fitbit I had a seizure. Has anyone else experienced seizures while wearing a fitness tracker or Apple Watch? I was wondering if it is the heart rate monitor?
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member LOL! Exactly!!!
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member The sleep function is pretty annoying. If you wake up for 5 mins and go to the toilet suddenly you have had had bad sleep. But sometimes you feel like you have had a terrible sleep, but the data says you did great. 🤷♂️
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Fitbits and other smart watches are ok for just day to day tracking but not for medical use. There really only designed to give you a idea of where things are at. One thing I don't like about most smart watches is the BP feature. Most of them need you to take you BP then manually enter the data then it uses the HB data to take readings. TBH this is one thing I wouldn't really on.
No I haven't had this issue. Also be mindful that the info the smart watches provides is out by 5-10 either side.
I agree 100% I don't rely on it at all. It was an unwanted gift from my wife. This thing can't tell me how much sleep I get. The heart rate is fairly accurate as is the SPO2 (when it works). I kind of rely on that data somewhat for my leaky aortic valve
