A Neurologist Who specializes in Epilepsy.
It’s a niche subspecialty within neurology that deals with epilepsy.
There is even an a board certification for epileptology, for doctors that want it.
I know this because my former doctor explained that I needed to continue seeing a board certified epileptologist due to the fact that my seizures are super refractory in nature.
Med school residency in general neurology than a fellowship in epilepsy
My Neurologist recently referred me to an Epileptologist who, as said earlier, is a Neurologist with additional training and certification in Epilepsy, Or so his page says. I'll find out before Thanksgiving.
An Epileptologist is a doctor that is specialized in the study of Epilepsy. Any word that ends in ologist is a person that is an expert in that study. Also any word that ends in ology is the action of the study of that subject.
